Officially created from a defunct water treatment facility in 1967, Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve appears to be a mirage at first glance, but its nine ponds have created an oasis in the desert and a great place to see a lot of different birds. Come with us for a walk and see how industrial land can be repurposed and adapted to attract wildlife and create a unique natural environment. A wide variety of resident and migratory water fowls can be seen at this location year-round. You’ll enjoy excellent access to the birds thanks to the maintained grounds and pre-built structures. As always, dress appropriately and bring your kids and your binoculars if you have them, but sorry, no dogs.
