Come see where humans and wildlife have gathered for thousands of years to quench their thirst in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Thousands of years. Walk the trails among cottonwoods, learn what a cienega really is and explore the desert botanical gardens. Species of wildlife seen at the Springs Preserve will vary, as the mix of resident and migratory species change with the seasons. All of this, amazingly, in the middle of a city of 2 million+ people. As always, dress appropriately and bring your kids and your binoculars if you have them, but sorry, no dogs. The Red Rock Audubon general meeting follows after the walk at the Nevada State Museum and the public is invited.
