A true oasis in the Mojave, Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs has been a park since 1964 and a significant desert ecosystem for millennia longer. Surrounded by sagebrush flats that lay at the foot of Gass Peak, Multiple species of trees encircle four stocked ponds that are always popular with waterfowl and local fishermen. The diversity of the surrounding area offers an excellent opportunity to see a wide variety of resident species and visiting migrants. The park includes the Tule Springs Ranch, Tule Springs Archaeological Site, and Tule Springs Wash. Tell the staff at the gate that you are here for the Audubon walk. As always, dress appropriately and bring your kids and your binoculars if you have them, but sorry, no dogs.
