Join us as we walk around looking for creatures that may pop up anywhere! No, we’re not playing Pokémon Go, we’re birding! Young birders ages 7-18 and an accompanying adult family member are invited to join us at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, Saturday, February 24, from 9-11am. You will be briefly introduced to how to use binoculars before we set out around the ponds searching for wintering ducks. With any luck, we may also be treated to an early migratory species. If you have binoculars, please bring them with you, but we will have a few sets on hand to borrow as well. There is little shade at the preserve, so a hat and water bottle are recommended. We will also be walking nearly the entire time, so comfortable shoes are a must (sneakers are fine, no need for hiking boots). Check in at the front desk of the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve. We will gather in the meeting room before venturing out on the preserve.
