Parking is out front. The bldg. is green and yellow. It is just east of the Pahrump High School.

Guest Speakers

Every month a guest speaker presents a new topic of interest at the general meetings. The purpose of our guest speakers is to raise awareness and educate everyone who attends about topics related to our conservation and education goals. We hope you all will join us each month at either of the meeting locations listed above. All general meetings are open to the public and are free to attend.

Sharon Schafer’s life as a wildlife photographer, painter, and biologist in Nevada and all over the world, she says, is both art and science.She’s traveled to Antarctica, Kenya, Mongolia, Peru, Namibia. Closer to home: to Arizona’s Grand Canyon and Nevada’s Mojave Desert.

A Student Collaboration Between Rajasthan, India and Southern Nevada, U.S.A.

This innovative collaboration was developed to connect students, ages 8-12, in the Mojave Desert of southern Nevada with their peers in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan, India in an effort to promote global environmental education through fine art, photography, and science.

He grew up in Ohio, where he received a B.S. in biology from Baldwin-Wallace University. After completing his undergraduate studies, he worked for several years as a high-seas fisheries biologist in Alaska, Hawaii, and Japan.

My interest in birds began when I was very young. By the time I was five years old I was fascinated with birds and watched them at feeders in my parents’ yard in Massachusetts.

At the age of 13 I joined the Tucson chapter of the National Audubon Society. When I lived in Utah I participated in the Utah County Birders Club (there was not an Audubon chapter in Provo). I have been associated with the Prescott chapter of the National Audubon Society for the past eleven years and have served on the board of directors and as the publicity chair.
