Install wetland plants to improve bird habitat at Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve

On Saturday February 11th, 2017 about 20 volunteers planted willow poles, watered plants, made plant cages, and installed the cages around plants on Pond 1 at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve.  Volunteers also cleaned up the weeds around Pond 1. Christiana Manville from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Jim Switalla from Red Rock Audubon Society lead the planting project. Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve staff – Jane Taylor provided hands-on bird activities for children.
