“Install Burrowing Owl Homes”

Family Friendly Event.  Help install new homes for burrowing owls near Gilcrease Orchard.  8 am to Noon.  Volunteers will help the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service install 6 artificial burrows south of Gilcrease Orchard and improve the owl habitat by picking up trash and removing old fencing.  We are looking for up 12 adult/teenage volunteers.  There will be special activities for children which includes owl pellet dissection and viewing of burrowing owls.  Volunteers must be able to use shovels and rakes to move dirt.  Volunteers should bring work gloves, wear closed shoes, and bring water and snacks.  For more information and to sign up contact Jim Switella at 702-878-3818 or register online.  Please let us know ages and number of kids who will be attending.
