Red Rock Audubon Privacy Policy

Introduction

Red Rock Audubon Society’s mission is to bring communities together to protect birds and the natural world across Southern Nevada, with emphasis on equitable education and environmental stewardship for a resilient future. This policy has been created by Red Rock Audubon Society (RRAS) to assure individuals visiting our website – https://www.redrockaudubon.com/ - that we value and respect their participation and their data on an ongoing basis.

RRAS has established a relationship with Neon One, through its website and customer relationship management tools to host our website and membership resources. Neon One works with nonprofit organizations like ours to support the use of technology to enable their mission.

What data do we collect?

We collect two types of data and information from those who visit our site.

The first is un-identified and non-identifiable information (Non-personal information) pertaining to your use of our Site. This may include technical information transmitted by your device in order to enhance the functionality of our Site.

The second type of information is Personally identifiable information (PII). This is information that can be used to distinguish or trace an individual’s identity, either alone or when combined with other personal or identifying information that is linked or linkable to a specific individual. When you visit our site, an Internet Protocol (IP) address is captured to identify your device’s location and the pathway to our site. When you register for an event on our site you will be asked to enter your name and email address. The creation of an account in our Constituent Portal will require that you enter your name, email address and mailing address. Membership enrollment in or donations to our society will require additional data to complete payment details.

How do we use your information?

We use the information collected from you to:

  • Support your interest in the mission and vision of RRAS
  • To quickly process your requests and transactions
  • To send periodic emails regarding your membership, event participation or online order.

Third Party Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your PII to outside parties. Any third-party links provided on our site are provided on an informational basis only to be explored at your discretion.    Separate privacy policies may be in place for those entities. We encourage you to read the applicable policies for each entity to which you choose to disclose information.

Cookies

Through our trusted vendor partner – NeonOne – we use cookies when you visit our Site or access our events and tools.

A “cookie” is a small piece of information that a website assigns to your device while you are viewing that site. Cookies are helpful and can be used for various purposes: allowing efficient navigation between pages, remembering your preferences, making the interaction between you and our Site quicker and easier. Cookies also help to compile statistical data on your use of our services.

The Site uses the following types of cookies:

  • "session cookies” – stored temporarily during a browsing session to allow normal use of the system and are deleted from your device when the browser is closed.
  • "persistent cookies” – read only by the Site, saved on your computer for a fixed period and are not deleted when the browser is closed. Such cookies are used where we need to know who you are for repeat visits, for example to allow us to store your preferences for the next sign-in.
  • "third party cookies” are set by other third party analytics companies such as Google Analytics who monitor and analyze our web access.

Cookies do not contain information that personally identifies you. You may remove the cookies by following the instructions for your device preferences. However, if you choose to disable cookies, some features on our Site may not function optimally.

Google Analytics

We also use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about site usage. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users access the Site, what pages visited and when.  We use the information to improve our Site and the services we provide. Google Analytics collects the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit the site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with PII.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data relating to the use of our site and services for the duration of the member relationship and for seven years after the customer account is closed for legal, regulatory, audit and tax requirements. After this period has expired, the personal information relating to your account and your use of the services will be deleted.

Should you wish to revoke your membership and have your information removed from our system, you can do so at any time by sending an email to ContactUs@RedRockAudubon.com

Do Not Track

We may also use data we collect, including personal information, to track visits to the Site and improve the user experience of the Site. If you have enabled the Do Not Track feature in your browser, our technology observes that signal and does not utilize information collected through the Sites to further track you.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do so, you will see the changes on this page, and we will update the effective date of the Privacy Policy on the Site. In all cases, Neon One’s use of the information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected.
