Red Rock Audubon Society (a chapter of The National Audubon Society) is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting the enjoyment and protection of birds and other wildlife through recreation, education, conservation and habitat enhancement in southern Nevada and adjacent areas.

RRAS members serve and contribute to our community by:
- Coordinating and participating in multiple field trips each year in the southern Nevada area and beyond.
- Conducting six Christmas Bird Counts and other citizen science projects.
- Partnering with the Great Basin Water Authority to create Discovery Park in Pahrump Nevada.
- Working with Bureau of Land Management to maintain Wheeler Camp Springs
- Supporting the USFWS, Clark County Parks, City of Henderson and their community conservation programs – like Get Outdoor Nevada Day, Bio-blitz, Earth Day, International Migratory Bird Day and the Nevada’s Junior Duck Stamp program etc.
- Advocating for local and flyway conservation issues by interacting with local, state and national officials and leveraging media coverage.
Your annual
$20 membership fee stays in southern Nevada and enables Red Rock Audubon Society to provide:
- Seven monthly membership meetings with guest speakers on a variety of topics.
- Birding field trips for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
- Guided birding events at various parks in Las Vegas and Henderson.
- Opportunities to volunteer for various environmental projects and events.
- Advocacy for local and flyway conservation issues.
- Funding the chapter’s membership information systems and operations
- Support for education programs, workshops and scholarships.
Estate Planning
Do you know you can leave a lasting benefit to the conservation of the habitat for birds and other wildlife across southern Nevada and neighboring areas? By including Red Rock Audubon Society (“RRAS”) in your estate planning, you can allow for the chapter’s Mission and Vision to sustain as well as grow.
There are several types of Planned Gifts:
- Bequest through will or trust
- Charitable trusts or annuities
- Beneficiary designations on bank accounts, life insurance, 401(k) or IRA
Through your planning, your desired designations can be met. It is your choice to be recognized or remain anonymous. You may also choose to have your gift be unrestricted, for use by Red Rock Audubon Society to further the work of all its current and future programs, or you may choose to have your gift be restricted with your instructions to follow.
